Our First Trip

Believe it or not...this is our first trip together as a couple..hehe...anyways..the destination is Malacca...and is during CNY 2010...hahaha...well....not much for me to talk about Malacca..as i believe most of us have been there. As usual, we went to the popular spots namely Jonker Walk, St. Paul's hill...A Famosa...dataran Pahlawan...and we took a ride up Manara Taming Sari..from up there we can view the entire Malacca town and the Straits of Malacca. It's worth it and heck if you are a My Kad holder you get special discount. Can't remember the ticket price though..Should be around RM 5 -10 per person...foreigners are more expensive. On the way back we stop by the new Jusco in Malacca. not all the tenants are open yet. will visit it next time once all the tenants are open. then we shall see how big is the whole complex...First impression, the complex is not that big...and F&B tenants are quiet limited (for the moment)....here are some pics we took...

Broga Hill

Most of us have already been to or heard of Broga Hill..As for me, i have heard of it but this is my first time there. For those of you who want to go there, my advice is to be there early say about 6.00am and begin to hike up if you want to view the sunrise. It takes about 30-45 minutes for the hike up if you are quiet fit. other that that it might take about 1 hour as you have occasional breaks on the way up.

Do bring along torchlight and if you prefer mosquito repellent. Wear long pants and sport shoes. Not sandals and slippers. It will be easier for you... during weekends there are many people there and it could be quiet crowded. This place has become famous thanks to the internet..Once up there, the wind will be blowing and it is very refreshing (imagine at Genting Highlands)..There are also locals who hike up the hill as their exercise. By local i mean those folks living nearby and strange enough most of them are aunties, uncles, grandfather and grandmothers, fathers and mothers with their sons/daughters/grandchildren...So young and they are exposed to hiking. It might seem torturing for the kids as we adults might suffer to hike up. But i think it's a good exercise for them.

At the end of the day, it is a very good experience for me and on my mind right now....I am hoping to go there at night and capture some nice photos of the sunset and also the stars in the night sky...It will bbe awesome as there are less city lights...Looking forward to it...

My first DSLR

Well...here is it..my first DSLR...a Sony Alpha α330..it's an entry level DSLR which suits me just fine as i am upgrading from digital camera.

Since it's an entry level model, the kit is basically standard..it includes the body (of course) and come with the new DT 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 SAM lens, 10.2 mega pixels..and most importantly it suits my budget. And i just added a HOYA UV filter for my lens.. Well, most of you will wonder why don't i go for the top 2 brands (Nikon or Canon)? Branding doesn't play much role in my choice. No matter what model or brand a person is using, if they have no skills then it's useless as they can't capture nice photos. Most important is the user's skills..given an entry level, they might produce photos which looks just like pros. And the best part of this camera is it's live view mode. I can shoot is just like a digital camera without looking through the viewfinder and it has a fast autofocus in live view mode. This is handy for me as given the nature of events that i mostly attend, it is a good feature.

But all in all, the choice is up to the users. For the time being, i am satisfied with it and looking forward to add at least another lens for my DSLR.. Here are a few pics to share
